Nykaa Skin Genius Sculpting & Hydrating Foundation (02 Almond Beige)- Review

Hey everyone!!!

Recently Nykaa has launched its own Skin Genius foundation and I thought to give it a try because they claim that it adapts your skin color, which is quite interesting. Although I have seen similar technique in lakme color changing CC cream. So without wasting any time let’s read more about this product.

My Take:

It comes in compact plastic sturdy squeeze bottle with black color cap. The outer pack is Nykaa’s statement packaging with hot pink carton box on which it has Nykaa logo and other details printed. I am in shade 02- Almond Beige and I believe that this color will suit most of the Indian skin tones. In this range you get total of five shades which are:

  • Pure Ivory 01
  • Almond Beige 02
  • Warm Sand 03
  • True Tan 04
  • Golden Honey 05

Let’s talk about its color changing technique. So Nykaa claims that if you have a skin tone a shade darker or lighter to a particular foundation shade let’s say almond beige, then this foundation will adapt true color of your skin tone which is quite good because sometimes it happens that we buy wrong foundation shade and later we repent. But with this foundation if you go wrong also then no need to worry because it will adapt the color of your skin 🙂 Now coming on to the texture of this foundation which is on a runny side. It blends well with both beauty blender and fingers. It does hydrates skin and gives slight glow to the face which means that it is good for dry skin beauties. For oily skin, one has to set this foundation with compact powder to make it matte or else the face will become shiny after few hours. It lasts for around 6 to 7 hours on my face ( you can watch the longevity test in the video linked at the end of this review). Now lets talk about the downsides of this foundation, it is not a full coverage foundation. Packaging it little messy because you have to squeeze out the product and by mistake if you end up squeezing lot of product then there is no way you can put it back so, I wish Nykaa has given a pump dispenser packaging in this amount of price . Over all its a good product, If you have dry skin and you want some moisturizing foundation then go for Nykaa Skin Genius foundation.

  • lightweight
  • Easy to Blend
  • Adapts skin color
  • Last long
  • Hydrating and gives nice glow to face

  • Packaging is messy
  • Not a full coverage foundation
  • Oily skin people need to set it with compact powder
